Allow Me To Introduce Myself

Chances are if you're reading this than you already know me. But, on the off chance that either you don't know me well and want to know more or you happen upon this humble blog via stumble or some other means, here's a little bit about me.

Actually, let me make a list. I like lists. 25 things I am and 25 I am not.

1. I am Brenna. If you don't know my last name, you don't need to. Besides, what name I give you depends on who's asking! :)
2. I feel very much like I am spiritual being having a very mortal experience.
   
3. I am a first born child. And female.
   
4. I share my DNA with two offspring and 4 other siblings.
   
5. I am a married woman. (although, I guess stating that I'm a woman is redundant--see #3.)
   
6. I am a memeber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.
   
7. I am returned missionary for said church.
8. I am a high school drop out and a college graduate. (And I almost just spelled college wrong. Now wouldn't that have been convincing?)
9. I am a list maker and a procrastinator.
10. I am a sewer--about as much, though, as a 3rd year piano student is a pianist.
11. I am a teacher in my heart and a mother in reality.
    
12. I am singer who wasn't blessed with a talent to match the volume in which I like to sing to my kids.
    
13. I am a 31 Flavors sample platter of mental illness.
    
14. I am strong willed and struggle with follow-through.
15. I am a "red" personality, also an "intj" if you prefer that personality test.
16. I am the oldest of 40 grandkids.
17. I am the victim of a random swan biting.
18. I am an over-achiever who struggles with self motivation.
19. I am a beginning knitter.
20. I am a make-it-up-as-I-cook kind of cooker.
21. I am a day dreamer and night do-er (aka a night owl).
22. I am an introvert, homebody and often times socially awkward (and when you read that please read the last word in a high pitched singy type voice) .
23. I am a philosopher, a lover of wisdom and learning.
24. I am a truth-teller.
    
25. I am introspective. But a funny one.
    

And I'm not

1. a scrap-booker (although, I suppose 15 years ago I was).
2. a gourmet chef.
3. an awesome house-keeper/laundry folder/put-away-er.
4. a beauty queen
5. perfectionist (but I do have ocd tenancies. go figure!)
6. historian, musician, physician, stylist or cosmetologist or cheerleader.
   
7. a Renaissance crafty person-but I pretend on occasion.
8. one of those people who just always look good in pictures.
9. nor am I a photographer
10. an athlete (unless you count giving birth naturally as being athletic. And if you do, then change that to "I am not a runner, weight lifter, cardio-do-er, yogi." Thanks!)
11. a good liar
12. an extrovert, despite the fact that I do love talking to people and getting to know them.
13. a good phone call answer-er/return-call-maker/email reply-er.
    
14. the incarnate version of a chihuahua, although if I could be any animal, I'd really like to be a sun bear.
    
15. a fan of disney princesses, with the exception of Cinderella. She may be the only one
    
16. a natural brunette
17. a lover of all music and movies. I am quite picky.
18. naturally a morning person, despite what motherhood as attempted to fix.
    
19. bilingual. sadly.
20. someone who easily tans. burning, however, is a different story.
    
21. terribly politically aware.
    
22. a shrinking violet when it comes to standing up for what I believe.
23. done with my schooling, despite the BS degree and what my husband says we can afford. Someday I will get my masters degree. I will.
    
24. a fan of reading series books until the entire series is out. (and then it's old news and I forget to read them. So, with a few exceptions, I have given up on a lot of fiction.)
25. anywhere close to perfect. duh.

So, there they are. A few things I am. A few things I'm not. And then there are other lists-things I could and should be, things I want to be, things I have overcome, things I struggle with, things I want, things I dislike, things I think about, and a variety of other things. And somewhere in the mass Venn Diagram, all those things intersect. And there at that intersection, clothed in a short, pale, (and I choose to say soft rather then out of shape) body is the definition of what it means to be Brenna.
